From the ground up

Start with the part of the body nearest the ground, then work upward.

Dorsiflexion brings the top of the foot toward the shin. Plantar flexion points the foot away. Inversion and eversion change the direction the sole faces; they are not the same as turning the whole thigh. At the knee, flexion is bending and extension is straightening. Tracking describes a path during movement, not a diagnosis from one picture.

The movement lab in the full build

Keep the shin visible. Toggle the ankle pair, then the sole-direction pair, then bend and straighten the knee. Compare the Down Dog and Child's Pose ankle examples.

This release does not implement this lesson’s full animation. Its behaviour is specified in the PRD and content data. Step controls will accompany every drag interaction.

Notice

Which joint changed? Did the toes move separately from the ankle?

Guardrail: Do not use toe direction alone to label the ankle. Do not prescribe a knee angle or make pain claims from the diagram.
