Compare
Two examples, side by side.
Differences here describe these two illustrated examples. They do not rank bodies or describe a correct shape.
Arm supportSpine: Axial extension
Shoulder
The arms are overhead relative to the trunk: shoulder flexion.
Base of support: The hands and the soles of both feet
Breath: Weight sits at both ends and the torso is held long between them. Breath volume is often smaller here than it looks, because length is being favoured over expansion.
KneelingSpine: Flexion
Shoulder
The arms reach forward relative to the trunk: shoulder flexion.
Base of support: The shins, knees and tops of the feet
Breath: Thighs meet the belly and the floor meets the front ribs, so the breath is pushed into the back body. A useful place to feel that breathing is shape change.
Both examples include this region.
Schematic interaction preview. Figures are simplified, not reviewed anatomical illustrations. The full lesson animations and production anatomy layers are specified in the PRD, not implemented here. Watching is a complete way to participate.
